Site Description
Saint Paraskeva Church of Baia Mare, was founded in 2004, at the initiative of Father Gavriș Gavril, when he received a piece of land from the City Hall in order to build a new church. At vespers, on July 4, 2004, His Eminence Justin Sigheteanul, sanctified the place and laid the foundation stone, in the presence of a priests’ choir and the crowd of faithful gathered.
SPOC Contributions
Our collaboration started in the beginning of 2024 when we offer this parish financial support to acquire a baldachin for Saint Paraskeva vestment. A total of $31,500 has been granted to this parish to date. Not having a roof installed, heavy rain threatened to damage the inside of the church. SPOC intervened immediately and gave the church $27,000 in grants for this project. With the roof in place, the building is now safe and protected from the weather elements, and construction can continue.
