The Feast Day of Saint Paraskeva

On October 14th, we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Paraskeva, our Charity patron. We are endlessly grateful for her intercession in prayer and for her guidance throughout the years of continuous service. Through prosperity and hardship, driven by the love for the people, Saint Paraskeva Orthodox Charity continues to be faithful to its mission in helping those in need.

At this time of celebration, we thank God for His never-ending love and help, reflect on our achievements, and count our blessings. This impactful work is done mainly by Saint Paraskeva; the rest of us are her messengers and servants. Together, only together, we move forward on the right path. Through prompt and steady involvement, SPOC managed to touch the lives of many people in different ways. More than 5000 underprivileged children in Romania rediscovered joy and hope. Hundreds of babies were saved from abortion. Hundreds of women in pregnancy crises received maternity support. Hundreds of elders were given assistance and relief in their many struggles. Seven social settlements were built in different areas of Romania. Four orphanages received the much needed funding for various necessities. Three SPOC scholarship recipients were admitted into the graduate medical school. Close to 200 students received scholarships. Two schools were renovated. Four houses were built for families hit by tragedy. …And the list can continue. Glory to God for all things! All the good work SPOC has done was possible because of you, our donors and volunteers, and we THANK YOU for your time and support.

Let us all join our thanksgiving prayers with Saint Paraskeva’s prayers of intercession so that our acts of mercy continue to attract the grace of the Holy Spirit and draw us closer to the likeness of our loving and merciful God.

May the Lord’s blessings be upon you and your loved ones. With utmost gratitude for your generosity,

The SPOC Team
